Wedding and Honeymoon Pictures!

 Brad and Julie Holman

October 1, 2006

We were married in Sevierville, Tn on horseback.  It was scheduled for noon, but of course I made us late.  I requested a black horse for me and a white one for Brad.  Who knew mine (Diablo) would be a foot taller than his (Silver)!  We had a really neat ceremony overlooking Cherokee Valley on a beautiful day.  The preacher added a bit of humor by mispronouncing our name until the very end when he sang Happy Trails as we rode back down the hill.  Afterward, we had to run back to the hotel we checked out of that morning...I left the wedding cake in the fridge.

The rings were a little confusing.  We put them on when we thought he said to, but apparently, he wasn't ready, so it was awkward.

We honeymooned at Twin Valley Bed & Breakfast and Horse Ranch run by Jan and Tip Tipton.  It is outside Walland, Tn and encompasses 240 acres.  We stayed in their secluded Luke's Cabin.  Built of beautiful wood, it came complete with a cat, Flossy, and a dog, Ruby, who welcomed us and stayed on the porch waiting for any available scraps.  Tanner, Ruby's buddy, joined when he wanted a treat.  The dogs went on all the horse rides.

We took 2 half day horse rides - Brad rode Big Easy and I rode Midnight.  Then on Thursday I surprised Brad with a 'power ride' with Jan -he rode Rebel.  Since he's a better rider, I wanted him to have a more experienced ride.  The ranch has 13 horses and yes, I learned all their names.

Also residing there is Monty, the donkey; Yu-Can Jack, the llama; a duck, 2 geese; 2 mini pot-bellied pigs; 2 myotonic bucks (they faint), Alby, a buck; Deer, the pygmy doe; 4 guineas; Snowy, white rabbit, Ashes, black rabbit, and Mable (white and black rabbit); and numerous chickens.

We highly recommend Twin Valley to anyone who wants to truly get away from the hustle and bustle.  No phones, no internet, no cell phone reception (unless you ride into town).  Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg are within 25 miles and Cade's Cove is within 12 miles.
